Leave entitlements
2–12 wks
Parental Leave
12 weeks paid parental leave for the birthing parent and 2 weeks for the non-birthing parent.
Prenatal Care
Pregnant employees may take reasonable paid time off during working hours for ante-natal care including visits to their doctor, obstetrician, hospital etc.
5 days
Fertility Leave
Access to additional 5 days paid leave for those affected by miscarriage or those undergoing IVF treatments. Partners can also access this leave.
+1 day
Birthday Leave
Take an extra bonus day of paid leave on (or around) your birthday.
+1 day
A Day For You
Need a long weekend to relax and recoup, or a mental health day? You get an extra day of paid leave to use throughout the calendar year. AKA R U OK Day.
Taking time off
Annual Leave
- Discuss your plans with your line manager as early as possible (before flights are booked!)
- Submit request via Employment Hero
- Once approved: update your calendar, enter leave in Productive (Time > Book Time Off), and update your Slack status to 🌴
Personal Leave
- Notify your line manager via Slack and any impacted team members. Handover any time-sensitive work where possible.
- Submit request via Employment Hero
- Once approved: update your calendar, enter absence in Productive (+ Absence, top right nav)
Planned Personal Leave
- Notify your line manager via Slack and any impacted team members. Handover any time-sensitive work where possible.
- Submit request via Employment Hero
- Once approved: update your calendar, enter absence in Productive (+ Absence, top right nav)
Time in Lieu (TOIL)
- Confirm with your line manager before accruing TOIL
- Record agreed hours in Productive
- Email Maddie V (cc your line manager) with accrued hours. These will be added to Employment Hero or agreed to be taken in the coming days.
Working Overseas
- Discuss your plans with your line manager (consider crossover time and how you'll manage workload/client commitments)
- Involve other key team members if relevant
- Once approved: add working days to the Working from O/S calendar in Outlook, noting hours in AEST
- Update your Slack profile to show working hours so the team knows when you'll be online. eg: 🇬🇧 Working O/S 3pm–10pm
Reporting Sick Leave (All teams - excluding Performance team)
If you're unwell and unable to work, follow these steps to notify your team and make sure everything is covered.
Step 1
Notify your team
Message your line manager via Slack and any impacted team members. Handover any time-sensitive work where possible.
Step 2
Enter absence in Productive
Go to + Absence in the top right nav and select Sick Leave.
Step 3
Decline calendar invites
Decline any meetings or events in your calendar for the day.
Step 4
Submit leave on return
Within 24 hours of returning, submit your personal leave via Employment Hero.
Reporting sick leave (Performance Team)
If you're unwell and unable to work, follow these steps to notify your team and make sure everything is covered.
Step 1
Submit the Slack form
Find the pinned Sick Leave form in your team channel (e.g. #seo or #paid-media) and complete:
- Who is your manager?
- Briefly list any urgent client tasks or meetings today
- When do you expect to be back? (optional)
Step 2
You'll receive an automatic reply
Once submitted, you'll get a message confirming your submission. You'll also need to:
- Update your Slack status to 🤒
- Set your email OOO auto-reply: "Hi there, thank you for your email. I am currently out of the office and will have limited access to my inbox. For anything urgent, please reach out to [manager's email]. Otherwise, I will respond as soon as I am back. Thanks for your patience."
Step 3
Your manager and team are notified
Your manager will receive a direct message and your team channel will be notified that you're out today. Your manager is the point of contact for any urgent queries.
Step 4
When you return
Within 24 hours of returning, you must:
- Submit your sick leave in Employment Hero
- Submit your sick leave as an absence in Productive
